Performance Physical Therapists

Christopher DiPasquale, PhD, PT, OCS, SCS, CHT

Chris graduated from Quinnipiac University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. In 1998, he earned a Master of Science in Allied Health and, in 2007, a Ph.D. in Kinesiology from the University of Connecticut. He is specialty board certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS) and Sports Physical Therapy (SCS) by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission.  


Chris supervises our Hebron office and is the Administrator of our Medicare Rehabilitation Agency.  He also supervises our Sports Medicine Program at RHAM High School and is certified in concussion rehabilitation by ImPACT Applications as an ImPACT Trained PT.  

At Deer Park High School in New York, Chris played varsity football, lacrosse, wrestling and club hockey. At Quinnipiac University, he was a member of the hockey team his freshman year then left the team for residential life staff positions to pay for school. After Quinnipiac, Chris rode for a competitive club cycling team and competed in run-bike-run biathlons.  He was a founder of the local Colchester and Hebron-based youth lacrosse programs. He is currently active as a high school and college lacrosse referee and high school soccer referee.  

James A. Ferland, PT

A 1989 graduate of the University of Vermont with a B.S. in Physical Therapy, Mr. Ferland has an extensive background in neurology, orthotics and prosthetics, general rehabilitation as well as orthopedics. Mr. Ferland is trained in vestibular rehabilitation and is our specialist in the treatment of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo or BPPV.  He is also certified in concussion rehabilitation by ImPACT Applications as an ImPACT Trained PT.  


He brings extensive supervisory experience to the practice including his role in the outpatient physical therapy department at Gaylord Hospital. He supervises operations at our Colchester office and also serves as the Associate Administrator for our Medicare Rehabilitation Agency.


He served as an adjunct professor at the University of Hartford and is currently our coordinator of clinical education working with physical therapy students during their clinical internships.


At St. Thomas Aquinas high school, he was a member of the varsity basketball team all 4 years including two state championships. He was also a member of the cross country team. After high school. he competed in marathons and continues to stay active cycling.

Christine Bergeron, PT

Ms. Bergeron is a 1993 graduate of the McGill University Program in Physical Therapy. After practicing three years at Rutland Regional Medical Center in Vermont she moved to Connecticut and has since worked in outpatient settings specializing in orthopedics.


She has extensive post-graduate training in Orthopedic Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac University and completed the orthopedic component of the Canadian School of Osteopathy in Montreal.


As a native of Canada, she grew up a competitive figure skater and coached competitive figure skaters in Connecticut. She has additional background in ballet, Pilates, and yoga, and is an active mountain biker and alpine skier. Ms. Bergeron practices full time in our Hebron office.

Rebecca C. Paquette, DPT, OCS, MTC, CLT-LANA

A 2004 Master of Science graduate from the University of Connecticut physical therapy program, Dr. Paquette completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine in 2011.


She is board certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS) by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and has a Manual Therapy Certification (MTC) from the University of St. Augustine. She is also specialty certified as a Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) by the Lymphology Association of North America (LANA).  She is also certified in concussion rehabilitation by ImPACT Applications as an ImPACT Trained PT.


While at the University of Connecticut, Dr. Paquette was a member of the Varsity Rowing team. She has coached high school rowers and has competed with the masters division of a local club.

Mark R. Skinner, DPT, MTC, CEAS

A 2000 Master of Science graduate of the University of Connecticut Physical Therapy Program, Dr. Skinner completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine in 2007. He has a Manual Therapy Certification (MTC) from the University of St. Augustine and is a Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist (CEAS) by the Back School of Atlanta.


Dr. Skinner has an extensive background in Orthopedic Physical Therapy. He practiced full time with PPTSM from 2000 through 2003 where he had primary responsibility for the Hebron office and affiliated student athlete programs. He currently practices part time in our organization while also supervising and practicing full time in an occupational health physical therapy service.


At East Hampton, high school Mark played varsity soccer, basketball and baseball. He is now active coaching his children in youth soccer.  


Brittany Weiss, ATC

Ms. Weiss received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from UCONN in 2012.  She has extensive experience as an athletic trainer in both the high school and college setting.    


Brittany is also an experienced competitive athlete.  While at UCONN she was a member of the crew team.  Before attending UCONN she was a USAG Gymnastics Level 9 gymnast competing with New England Gymnastics Express.


At PPTSM Brittany is the Director of Athletic Training for our organization and provides athletic training service in our Sports Medicine Program.   

Katherine Myers, DPT, Cert. MDT


Dr. Katherine Myers attended graduate school at D'Youville College in Buffalo, New York where she earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Ballet and Contemporary Dance at Point Park University in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania in 2005. 


Katie has concentrated her practice in orthopedics, sports medicine, and vestibular rehabilitation.  Her post graduate training has emphasized dry needling, McKenzie including certification in MDT, and Mulligan treatment approaches for chronic pain, spine conditions, and movement disorders.  She also completed the emergency medical response training for sports physical therapists and will be active providing on the filed coverage for our high school sports medicine program.  

Zuzana Kudernatschova, DPT

Dr. Zuzana Kudernatschova completed graduate school at the University of Hartford where she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.  She also earned a Bachelor of Health Science at the University of Hartford.  Zuzana is also certified in concussion rehabilitation by ImPACT Applications as an ImPACT Trained PT. 

As an undergraduate at the University of Hartford Zuzana was a pitcher on the NCAA Division I Softball Team.  Zuzana is a native of the Czech Republic where she was a member of the  Junior National Softball team.  Her interest in physical therapy started during her successful treatment of softball injuries with physical therapy. 


Zuzana was drawn to the active group of people our practice serves with an approach emphasizing manual therapy and exercise.  Her experience as an athlete and physical therapy patient combined with her manual therapy background maker her a welcome addition to our practice.  Dr. Kudernatschova will be based in our Hebron office.   

Katie Petersen, DPT

Dr. Petersen is a graduate of the integrated bachelors - doctoral program at Quinnipiac University.  After completing a bachelor's degrees in 2013 she received her Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2015.  After graduation Dr. Petersen worked for a large national physical therapy corporation, first as a staff therapist, and then as a clinic director.  Katie joined our practice because our values aligned - always putting patients first.  

Dr. Petersen will see patients in our Hebron office.  She focuses her practice on orthopedics, sports medicine, and vestibular rehabilitation.  She is certified by ImPACT in concussion rehabilitation, and completed an IAMT certification in dry needling.  

Katie grew-up playing soccer and played through high school.  She is also a self-described "horse girl" riding most of her life, including youth competitions.  Although she hung up her cleats, horseback riding continues to be a big part of her life. 

Frank Howd, PT, MDT


Frank graduated from the UCONN Physical Therapy program in 1996.  Since then has has worked in a variety of outpatient settings specializing in orthopedic and sports physical therapy.  In 2009 he was certified by the McKenzie Institute as a Mechanical Diagnostic Therapist.  Frank also brings his diverse background in patented medical device development for leg strengthening, software and app development, and as an insurance case reviewer.  


Frank also has a background in performing arts having worked as a professional musician playing guitar in a rock band, a live sound engineer in the music industry, and as a club and wedding DJ.  Frank now keeps himself busy riding his mountain bike year round.
